Major Mike Rivers, a US Army Reservist, is currently stationed in Afghanistan. Major Rivers is also a blood donor as well as an employee at AstraZeneca here in the South Sound area.
Mike’s co-workers, the Purple Pill team, came to Cascade Regional Blood Services last week to honor Mike’s military commitment and service by donating blood. The co-workers and their spouses asked Mike what they could do to support him. He responded: “donate blood at your local blood center!” The group headed to Cascade’s donation center in Tacoma. They made signs (see top photo) to let Mike know that they took him seriously and that they miss him. The Purple Pill (Lexium) team live and work in the Kent, Tacoma and Olympia areas.
