The students at Franklin Pierce High School had the CRBS staff hustling to keep up with the enthusiastic flow of students wanting to donate blood at their last drive of the year. In fact they were so busy they recruited Chelsea Santa Cruz to do a recap of the drive. Chelsea is an excellent journalism student and it showed in her work. She gathered quotes from fellow students and took photos all while volunteering at the drive. Here are some quotes Chelsea so skillfully recorded.
Audrey Webster, a drive volunteer, said “I didn’t donate so I thought I would help in some other kind of way.”
Dawn Kim noted “I have donated three times before and it is a lot of fun”
She quoted an unnamed sophomore as saying “I donated for the free cookies and juice!” And we say that is as good a reason as any.
Thanks to Chelsea and all the staff and students at Franklin Pierce for putting on another great blood drive. The volunteers worked hard and the staff was very supportive. They registered 74 donors, helped improve the lives of many patients in our area hospitals, and saved many other lives as a result.
