Rogers High School - December 3, 2007

Rogers High School held a very successful blood drive on December 3. We had 122 people register to donate! Rogers has always been a leader as far as number of donors is concerned and the organization of their drives. Instrumental to this effort was Leadership teacher Becky Binger, Activities Director Peter Collins, Student Coordinator Tyler Rasmusson, and the sponsor group, Leadership.

Prior blood drives at Rogers High School were held in blood mobiles; however thanks to the cooperation and coordination of Activities Director Peter Collins, this drive was held in the school gym. This new location allowed CRBS staff to more easily accommodate the needs of the donors and shorten the time students spent waiting for their turn to donate.

Rogers High School Leadership conducts three blood drives a year, each headed by a different student within the class. A “blood drive binder” has been created by the students and is passed on each year to the incoming student coordinator. The “blood drive binder” is updated regularly!

A pizza party was held the day after the drive to thank the students who helped make this drive possible. They take great pride in being leaders and for the support they provide for CRBS, Good Samaritan and the other area hospitals.

Rogers High School

Known for their huge and record setting blood drives, the leadership students at Rogers High School stepped forward and did another wonderful job with two extremely successful blood drives in March and May this spring. A special thanks to Becky Binger, Ben Muelenbruch, and Jared Falconer for their support and leadership, and to everyone at Rogers for providing tremendous support again during this past school year.

Organizing blood drives has been a perfect fit for the leadership students. They learn event management and organization as well as what a great feeling they can get from providing this crucial support for our community. Cascade Regional Blood Services appreciates the support we receive from groups like the Rogers Leadership class. As the caretaker of our community blood supply, we could not provide the services we do without their efforts.

We look forward to returning in December 2006 for their next drive and to seeing what unique marketing ideas they come up with to support that drive and provide the fun and excitement that are always a part of Rogers High School.
