High School Blood Drive Record Broken!!!
Rick Pitzer lead students at Spanaway Lake High School to a record breaking blood drive registering 167 blood donors on Thursday, May 12th. The record was most recently held by Rogers High School at 153 donors and Todd Beamer High School at 146. Spanaway Lake has raised the bar for High Schools looking to save lives in Pierce and South King Counties. The students worked hard to encourage other students and teachers to sign-up for the blood drive. The determination of the students resulted in record breaking results. On the day of the drive, students wore Donate Blood T-shirts and did a great job of providing cookies and juice to donors while continuing to encourage more blood donors. Next year Cascade Regional Blood Services will partner with Spanaway Lake for another record breaking drive: going for over 200 donors!
On May 17th Cascade Regional Blood Services will be presenting the Spanaway Lake HS volunteers with certificates of appreciation and a pizza party for all their hard work. These relationships with local High Schools makes saving lives possible on our community.
